LOONAWELL and Yelena Wysling Collaborate to Create a set of Limited Edition Holiday Cards
In some parts of the world, this is the time of the year where the winter starts settling and we cosy up.
For some, it is also a festive time, a holiday season filled with emotions, giving and receiving, celebrating, eating and drinking in the company of loved ones ….or simply unwinding to the end of one more year and welcoming a new one full of opportunity.
Our loved furry friends will be by our side and for sure we will want them to feel special too.
LOONAWELL is a caring brand, both inside and out. We love the holiday season and the chance to celebrate it with our four-legged best friends, so we set out to create a very special limited edition postcard, addressed to our dogs.
To do this, we needed to find a suitable partner, and who better than inspiring local artist Yelena Wysling ?
Yelena was born in a small Swiss village, and was passionate about drawing as a child, before she went on to focus on education with studies in cultural anthropology, geography and politics. In adulthood, having received a gift of pens, a sketchbook, and watercolors from her husband, Yelena returned to her burning passion of art and expression.
Yelena’s line and wash paintings are stunning, with an adorable focus on enchanting and interesting characters… but one quickly realizes that Yelena’s drawings have a depth of meaning behind them, one that touched our hearts from the very beginning. As soon as I saw her work, I knew she was perfect for this partnership.
As the owner of LOONAWELL, I met Yelena personally several months ago to enquire if she'd be interested in partnering to bring our idea to life.
We connected immediately, brainstormed around different drawings, colors, textures… We worked together, learned from one another, and Yelena got to work creating two different beautiful postcards, together with the thank you notes. She took a couple more months to lovingly hand paint every single individual postcard with the designs to ensure every card is totally unique.
