Cristina is not only a brilliant scientist with a PhD in Food Science from ETH Zurich, but she is also the core of our product development efforts, constantly pushing the boundaries to create products that make a real difference in the lives of dogs and their owners.

At LOONAWELL, Cristina collaborates closely with a veterinary doctor, a culinary advisor, and our Manufacturing Lead, Lucie Goguelin, to ensure that every product we create is backed by science and crafted with love. From supporting the selection of the finest ingredients to conducting thorough taste tests, Cristina ensures that every new product we bring to life not only meets our high scientific standards but also delights the dogs who get to enjoy them.
From Lab to Kitchen: The Perfect Blend of Science and Passion
Cristina’s day-to-day involves meticulous research and lots of reading and testing, ensuring that we use the best possible ingredients in every recipe. The process starts in the lab, where we evaluate different ingredients for their nutritional value and suitability for our dogs. From there, Cristina takes her research to the kitchen, where she and the team experiment with flavor profiles, texture, different cooking methods and overall taste, adjusting the recipes as needed until they meet our exacting standards.
One of the aspects I most admire about Cristina is her ability to balance the precision of scientific research with the creativity required to make pet food that dogs absolutely love and owners can trust blindly. Her passion for both the science and the art of food development is clear in every product that bears the LOONAWELL name.
A Personal Touch: Family and Fulfillment
As you’ll see in the video, outside of work, Cristina is a devoted mother to her beautiful baby girl, Aura, and she treasures every moment with her family. Cristina's role at LOONAWELL is also incredibly fulfilling for her, as it allows her to combine her professional knowledge with her passion for dogs and high-quality food. Moving from a laboratory setting to a start-up environment where she can bring products to life has been a thrilling and rewarding journey for her.
